Former NBL Star Daryl in a player/coach role as the club makes the jump to the league’s top division of State Championship Men.

Daryl had this to say on his appointment “I would like to thank the club for the opportunity to be a player/coach for the 2020 season, it’s a very exciting year for the club as we will be in Championship Men competition. This is a result of a lot of hard work over the last 2 years.

This is a very exciting time for the club, and we look forward to building an exciting team that kids want to come along and watch, we want to build a culture and program for the whole club.”

Men's Coach

"Basketball is all I’ve known having played since grade 1 and particularly being involved in Steelers at Western Port from young under 12 through to playing 200+ Big V games all at the one club.

For this season we will again be a young team with a big eye for the future, as we build a sustainable team to compete as a core group for many years to come. I’m also looking forward to working with Daryl in building a great pathway to senior Big V basketball for our players."

Youth League Men's

Adrian has spent a few years as an assistant at Frankston in the SEABL competition where he worked under Simon Mitchell the now South East Phoenix coach.

Women's Coach

Angela who was an assistant coach to the Steelers Division One women’s team in 2019 brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, and will be a great asset in the development of the Youth League women’s team and the girls program as a collective right down to the grassroots level.

Some of Angela’s achievements and experience include an extensive playing career at the big V level where she has won a championship, over 12 years coaching VJBL including multiple VC championships one with an undefeated season. Then at the Big V level, she has coached multiple finals campaigns featuring 2 titles in 2017 & 2018.
